Bachelor of Education; Diploma of Teaching L4 Te Pūtaketanga o Te Reo Māori
Tena koutou katoa,
My name is Rosina Nin and I have taught at Koromatua school since 2003. This year I am very blessed to have taught within our kura for many years and now I have the privilege of leading our kura as the Tumuaki.
Our school motto is ‘Te Aroha me te Pono’ which means ‘Truth and Love’. I think this motto embodies what we want for our tamariki and that is for them to stand in truth and love as they make their own journeys in life.
I am married to Errin Nin who is the Head of Science at Waikato Diocesan School for Girls. Our eldest daughter Anahera graduated from the University of Michigan and is now working for Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Toa as a Resource Policy Advisor. Our second eldest daughter Jaquan is in her third year of an Architecture degree at Victoria University and she is mummy to our beautiful mokopuna Lila. Our handsome son Elijah is Yr 12 at Fraser High where he is the Kapa Haka leader and a member of Aiga Tasi. Our third daughter is Ngāwaiata and she is Yr 9 at Hamilton Girls High School. Finally our youngest daughter is Liahona and she is Yr 6 in our Reorua class.
All our children attended and still attend Koromatua school. I have also been their teacher, which was a highlight for me.
I love spending time with my family, especially singing with my children. I enjoy playing sports, reading, dancing, performing in kapahaka and watching movies with my husband.
As the Tumuaki of Koromatua school, I want my tamariki to be strong, confident learners, who are willing to take risks and laugh at themselves. Most importantly I want my tamariki to know that they are important, they are valued and they are loved.
Nga mihinui kōutou kātoa,
Rosina Nin
